Watercolour and pastel landscape painting titled ‘Chilvers Coton Church, Nuneaton’ by Thomas Wakeman. Wakeman painted a number of landscapes showing sites of importance in Eliot’s life and works. Eliot attended the church in her childhood and it was the inspiration for the fictional Shepperton church in ‘Scenes of Clerical Life’.
