Portable Stationery Cabinet owned by George Eliot.

This portable stationery cabinet belonged to George Eliot. She would have used it to store her letter writing materials. Like many middle-class Victorians, Eliot was a prolific letter writer. Many of her surviving letters are now part of the local studies collection in Coventry Archives and Research Centre.
