This school bell is thought to be from Nantglyn School which was at 29 Warwick Row, Coventry. It was run by Mary and Rebecca, daughters of Reverend Francis Franklin. Eliot joined the boarding school when she was 13 and excelled at French, English composition and music. Nantglyn was the third and final school she attended, leaving at age 16 to care for her dying mother.
