Watercolour by Paul Braddon of a memorial stone originally erected in Arbury Park in memory of George Eliot. Handwritten beneath the painting are the words ‘Memorial stone to the memory of George Eliot in Newbury Park, Nuneaton. Had it not been for this gifted authoress, the little town would have almost been forgotten.’
