A watercolour of Charles Bray probably painted by his sister-in-law Sara Hennell, Charles or his wife Cara. They were all friends of George Eliot. Charles Bray was a prosperous ribbon manufacturer who owned the Coventry Herald newspaper. Cara and Charles’ home, Rosehill, became a centre for radical thinking on religion and politics.
